Speech Transcription

Speech Transcription
  • Sign in to your account and click Speech Transcription from the menu on the left hand side

  • Select the language you will be speaking from the dropdown

  • Click Start Recording to begin transcribing

  • Record your voice memo

  • Click the stop button at the bottom of the page once you are done

  • You will be redirected to the Completed Projects page where you can click on the file name to view the transcription

  • If you would like to translate the transcription click on the En icon on the top right and select a language for translation

  • Click Ok to translate and the translated text will appear under the source language text once the translation is complete

  • Click Translations under Completed Projects from the menu on the left to view all translated transcriptions

View Previous Orders
  • Sign in to your account and click My Orders from the menu on the left hand side

  • You’ll see a list with information about your past orders, click on View if you would like to look at the files in the orders

  • Click on Processing to see the orders that are currently in progress

  • Click on Pending to view orders where you have uploaded files but payment is not complete

  • Click Completed to view all orders that are finished

  • If you would only like to view transcriptions click Transcriptions under Completed Projects from the menu on the left

  • If you would only like to view translations click Translations under Completed Projects from the menu on the left

Reload your account balance
  • Sign in to your account and click My Balances from the menu on the left hand side

  • Select the amount you would like to add or enter in your own amount

  • Click Add a Credit or Debit Card if you would like to pay by card

  • Enter your card information and click Add

  • If you would like to pay through PayPal instead, click the checkbox next to PayPal

  • Click Proceed to Pay and you will be redirected to the PayPal site to enter your information if you selected PayPal otherwise your card will be used

Troubleshooting Tips

If you are having trouble connecting to an interpreter please try logging out of your account, closing the browser, and reopening the Lingolet workspace. Make sure you also allow access to use the microphone and camera for your browser and meet the minimum bandwidth requirements listed below. Bandwidth Requirements

Ideal Bandwidth: 25+ mbps upstream and 3+ mbps downstream. 

Recommended Bandwidth: 5+ mbps upstream and 3+ mbps downstream.

Minimum Bandwidth: 2 mbps upstream and downstream.

Tips for better calls:

Audio calls should be possible with most internet connections. Video calls use a lot more bandwidth, so if you are having issues with the quality of your video calls, we recommend:

  • Closing other applications that use the internet, especially those playing music or video.

  • Canceling any file transfers in progress.

If this does not resolve your problem, you may need to increase your bandwidth. Contact your Internet Service Provider if you need more information regarding your download and upload speeds.

To test your speed:

Navigate to http://www.speedtest.net/ and follow the on screen instructions.
